last week we saw the launch of house of vans london, a 3,000sqm art, music and skate space under waterloo station and the latest addition to london’s creative playground. representing the eclectic diversity of london and the cultures that have embraced vans from its humble beginnings, through five decades, house of vans opens with a showcase of creativity and a commitment to nurturing its next generation.

3dprintuk make sam abbott's amazing 3d printed skateboard!

this footage is from last year, august 2013 but it's still relevant tho'! you have to check this out!

sam abbott is one skilled fella - he won our competition that we co-hosted with cgtrader last month. sam won best the best portfolio catagory due to his plethora of awesome designs. we then had a few weeks of fun making his skateboard... it wasn't quite as strait forward as just a print as the board is longer than our build tray, meaning that we had to cut it into 3 sections, joining it together with some connector pins to ensure accuracy and to give it some strength over a simple butt joint. the final result? the worlds first 3d printed twin tip skateboard! 

...is it rideable? yes! but I wouldn't drop down many sets of stairs on it just yet!

all of 'em skate so fukkin' well! it's so hard to choose! fukk!!!

etnies casting call, featuring the following 7 finalists: sam bottenberg, ilyas eyamba, jack james, saimon oliveira, arturas jendovickis, sam sitayeb and conor charleson. with cameo's from uk etnies riders / ambassadors, barney page, gytis bliuvas & simon burlow. 

etnies casting call is an immersive event aimed at bringing young uk skateboarders together to create a street skateboarding edit that can be presented on a global platform.

after a preliminary event, seven successful skateboarders were compiled to go through to the final casting on the weekend of June 13th, where they featured in the above production - filmed entirely on location in london in a meager just 2.5 days.

the above is the final visual piece submitted and now voting will take place to determine which skateboarder will take the years supply of etnies shoes.

wall rides are fun! but this is insane!!!

empire games "wallrideorama", presented by converse cons, sponsored by volcom and organika. at the second stop of this years empire games the concept was simple, whoever could hold on and do the longest wall ride wins!

congratulations to jesse ramirez for taking home the win with a mind blowing 16ft wall ride, vince baldo coming in 2nd at 15.5 ft and charles deschamps 3rd at 15ft.

no ultimo sábado, dia 26 de julho, a new realizou uma disputa de um best trick na pista pública do bairro da freguesia do ó (são paulo). o evento contou com free session dos skatistas diego oliveira, bruno placca, ricardo cipolla, gabriel machado e joão formiguinha. houve também sorteio de brindes da marca aos presentes, live painting com júlio vieira e o som com dj koka.

on last saturday, july 26, the new held a contention for a best trick on the track of public district of freesia (são paulo). the event was attended by free session of skaters diego oliveira, bruno placca, ricardo cipolla, gabriel machado and john little ant. there was also lots of goodies to mark present, live painting with julius vieira and the sound with dj koka.
