epicly later'd: 20 years of chocolate!

part one!

chocolate has always been an elite skateboarding brand, so we jumped at the opportunity to do a "20 years of chocolate" episode. it gave us a chance to tap a lot of skaters that have never been featured on the show before and its an honor just to ride in chocolate's wake.

we filmed more interviews than we have for any episode before—and this is still a fraction of the stories we could have told. the brand has gone through many different incarnations and endured its fair share of hardships. enjoy!

part two!

in this part we talk about keenan milton, who got on the team a year or so after it formed. he was one of the best before his tragic death by drowning in 2001. the legendary 2003 skate video "yeah right!", features a short prologue paying tribute to keenan. every story we heard about keenan is what a great guy and friend he was and how much he is missed.

later on, we catch up with stevie williams to hear how chocolate inspired him to start his own brand, dgk.

after last week's heavy episode, it's time to relax and watch part three, where we cover kenny anderson's rise from a reluctantly sponsored vegas local to "your favorite skater's favorite skater."

we talked with kenny about learning under brian lotti and chris miller, riding for planet earth until the very end and how artist marc johnson made his mark on girl and chocolate. enjoy!

it's always interesting to see what skaters do after their time is up in professional skating and the difficulties they face entering the real world. we tracked down chocolate alumni everywhere from weed dispensaries to auto body shops to real estate firms. in the final chocolate episode, we tried to tie up all the loose ends and take a look at the future of the team. we also caught up with some of the trunk boyz and went to east la with vincent.

if you're anything like me, you'll often find yourself approaching people in the street, saying, "hey, you know what london needs? more cafes." because there just really, genuinely aren't enough, are there? i mean, take supposedly gastro-friendly spitalfields market, for instance; there are only four prets, three eats and two branches of pod in a five-minute radius. and as for fusion taco stalls and evisu stores? don't even get me started, mate. honestly, it's like living in brezhnev's russia sometimes.

our first episode of skate world: sweden finds us in malmo, where the ever motivated pontus alv and friends show the true meaning of d.i.y spirit. from their beginnings at the now defunct savanna side to the straight rawness of the train banks spot the malmo skaters take matters into there own hands when it comes to street spots.

if you've got a bunch of pro-skateboarder friends and you're splurging on a giant birthday party for yourself, it goes without saying that you're going to need a half-pipe. that's why billy rohan, a nyc skateboarder, came by vice's 15th anniversary party two days early bearing lumber, power tools, and an entourage of eager skater guys and girls. from there it was a hurried flurry of plywood shavings and bandsaw screechings as billy walked us step-by-step through the building of a mini ramp that can service a couple thousand partygoers. think of this little how-to number as the this old ramp edition of epicly later'd.

raven tershy and friends at the diamond mine!

this week, pretty sweet tuesdays is centered around a young man that has had skaters of all ages in awe for the past couple of years, raven tershy. heir to skaters like wade speyer, john cardiel, and rick mccrank, raven is known for assaulting the things he skates, taking on street and tranny spots with reckless abandon. this video highlights a casual afternoon at the diamond bowl, where a crew consisting of vincent alvarez, robbie russo, eric koston and even a bam margera rampside appearance.
