the predatory bird deck.

the predatory bird ©click on the image above to enlarge.
photo: the predatory bird

the predatory bird deck is exquisite. here's why:-

a) 100% canadian maple has been lovingly stained in the spirit of your favourite rosewood dining table.

b) the ultra-limited, laser-cut, bird-in-hand inlay motif is unequivocally labyrinthine in its radicalness.

c) each board has been constructed, piece by tiny intricate piece, by the talented, nimble fingers of the wood crafter, in british columbia.

d) each deck bears it's unique number of the 50 that exist.

e) functions equally well as wall decoration, improvised speedboat rudder or skateboard deck.

and please watch this video below:

this video is of my friend andy. when i was 13 i got drunk and threw a pool ball as hard as i could straight at his face. he dodged it, laughed and introduced me to the r. crumb / neil blender style keep-on-truckin rock fakie. now he operates a small wood shop in vancouver where he has made a miniscule number of the first ever predatory bird products. i’m pretty sure this is the only time we will use this particular process. there are 50, some of which are completes with thunders deluxe made specially, thank you deluxe.

world record wallie contest!

wallie world cup 2012.

for multiple days outside the bright trade show in berlin, pontus alv and lennie burmeister could be seen making transitions for the most unique contest this year. the concept was simple wallie over a barrier and you become the champion of the world. the mc, lev tanju of palace skateboards, was complete comedy. everyone had three tries to get over the barrier and when those were used up and more attempts were needed, the kind hearted, lev facilitated with a nice cold one. for some the strength of german beer didn't help them get over but for others the combination of light feet and alcohol made the task easy to accomplish.

starring pontus alv, dennis busenitz, jason adams, dennis laas, guy with energy drink hat, curly haired kid, white shirt, the australian and many others who i couldn't give nicknames too.

filmed and edited by sean nguyen.

trampoline skateboarding.

jason harvey, in the video above, might be the world's first professional trampoline skateboarder. he is also the inventor of the "tramp trucks", which can be fixed on any regular skateboard deck, which enables you to "skate" on a trampoline.

personally, i think this is an ingenious idea/invention that can improve ones aerial and varial skills on a normal skateboard. but the only down side about tramp skating, is the adrenaline rush when one pushes a skateboard (with regular trucks and wheels) and cruise. 'nuff said, watch the video above and enjoy!

oh yeah, in case y'all are wondering, jason harvey also rides a real skateboard.

owle bubo plus cam caddie.

okay, just to make this clear. first and foremost, i am not an iphone user but this gizmo, shown below, is making me have second thoughts on getting one.

owle bubo is a device which mounts your iphone (3g and 3gs only) onto it and basically shoot skateboarding videos or whatever you want, fisheye lens style with your iphone at the fraction of the cost, compared to conventional video cameras.

and also, to use the owle bubo to its fullest potential, you might also need to use a cam caddie, for more steady and stable shots while trailing your subject skate, while you're riding your plank.
