lodown magazine #70 february/march 2010
yet another great issue of this magazine straight outta
germany/europe. inside this thick slab features skateboarders from
"the holy land" (?),
israel;
jani laitiala, a talented kid on board from
helsinki,
finland who now resides in
sao paulo,
brazil and artist/skateboarder,
olafur eliasson from
denmark/iceland who joined forces with
mekanism, a skateboard company from
france, creating master pieces on decks resulting on what's called
"the mercury ocean", a reflective coating on the bottom ply of the boards. also featuring artists such as
robert indiana;
franz hoefner's &
herry sachs's art installations; art duo
doppel denk;
micheal johansson; a young designer,
aitor throup; surrealist painter,
nicola verlato;
japanese american artist,
tomokazu matsuyama and
rob ryan. not forgetting some band(s) and artist(s) interviews too. also, lotsa products, press and music reviews inside too. and what's
lodown without
"black is beautiful" 'zine that comes smack in between the pages of this magazine.
color magazine volume 8 issue 2 summer 2010
where and how the
fuck do i even start to review this beautiful slab? seriously, this is one of my
top reads when it comes to
skateboarding magazines besides
thrasher and that goes without saying, of course. inside this
canadian based magazine features...
fuck it! go out to your
local bookstore and grab yourself a copy. this is
too good to even be put into words and
my review will only ruin expectations of what
color offers. but i have to say a few words before i jump onto my next review,
color has one of the top skateboarding photography and features, in an
artsy perspective and point of view, 'nuff said.
go out and cop one!
thrasher magazine june 2010 - issue #359
what can i say about
thrasher magazine?
not much can be put into words.
thrasher magazine, in
my personal opinion, features
the most hardcore skateboarders in
the skateboarding world.
notice that i didn't use the word
"industry"? 'cause skateboarding is
not a fucking
industry, it's a fuckin'
culture for
dog's sake! it's either you get it or you don't, simple as that.
thrasher magazine has been around since
1981, that's
29 fuckin' years and they have
paid their
dues. enough of my ramblings, go out and cop yourself an issue, any issue and yeah
july's issue is already out, if i am not mistaken.
transworld skateboarding june 2010
i didn't purchase this magazine. a friend handed it to me after he had finish reading it. the only time(s) i'll grab myself an issue of this magazine is when i have nothing else to read in the
john's, seriously. i'd never recommend
transworld skateboarding magazine to any one and
iasc can
shove this mag' up their arses. i hope i don't get sued for saying that... ha! whatever man...
peace.
