god said, "i need somebody willing to get up at the crack of noon, eyes bloodshot from the night before, call in sick from work, not stretch, then go to the spot and stay well past midnight repeatedly trying for that one miraculous trick." so god made a skateboarder.

god said, "i need somebody willing to try a flip trick down a gap all day, get a swellbow the size of a golf ball wipe the sweat from their eyes and say "i'll get it tomorrow" i need somebody stealthy enough to stake out a spot, sneak past security, only to arrive on the scene and make more noise than a lumber yard. who has more superstitions than an old wive, never says the words last try, counts the number of cracks in the ground, knocks on wood, then will turn and huck themselves down a set of stairs without so much as a second glance, "so god made a skateboarder"

god said, i need somebody strong enough to live off 99 cent burritos, pizza, baconators and other fatty foods, while remaining skinny enough to squeeze through the narrowest of fence poles.

it had to be somebody who'd grind straight and carve corners, somebody who'd rip, flip, get a clip, eat a bag of shrooms and strip and curse and bitch, bust tre's and skate all day. somebody who'd bind a crew together with the promise of five dollars if they pull it next try, then back it up with a double or nothing, then sigh and reply with smiling eyes when his homie says he's got it right here - you got this shit! "so god made a skateboarder"

and then there was blood!!!

this weekend metro was lucky enough to host a skate demo with lowcard mag, blood wizard skateboards and heavy wheels. the wizards brought with them a cauldron of wizards brew, which upon being imbibed, gave them the power to float effortlessly across metro's rugged serrated parking lot, up onto our quarterpipes two feet of vert and into any trick their hearts desired! unfortunately for the mere mortals, jerry gurney left precious few drops for the rest of the crowd, he straight killed it! edit features the skating of frank faria, ratface, shane sullivan, b-man, adam benson and jerry gurney!!!

matty hunt new 2012 throwaway full part!

krooked, gravis, analog and metro team rider matty hunts been plenty busy since slap's one in a million sf. this is his cutting room floor footage from a new part thats about to post to transworld's site next week. look out for that one as well as a checkout from matty hunt that just came out in the new issue of tws. as amazing as all that is, it pales in comparison to the feat that matty's about to accomplish at the end of this month. any of you ever see a man eat his own beard? well its about to go down with your help. matty and metro are locked in an instagram duel to the death, if metro can get more followers than matty by february first, he's gonna shave his beard and let us bake it into a cake for him to enjoy as a tasty desert with all his closest friends on the web via live stream! if metro loses... we'll lets not even think of that possibility.
