a short biography film about don ‘nuge’ nguyen.

having grown up with very little prospects in oklahoma city, don ‘nuge’ nguyen made a choice to forge his own way of life, moving out west in pursuit of a dream career in skateboarding. a decade on and there's no doubt nuge’s risk paid off, going on to become one of the gnarliest skaters the sunshine coast has seen.

desillusion spent a day with nuge to discuss the local scene and how skateboarding might just have saved his life.

tale of four cities explores the skate communities within the four cities that cons project takes place - boston, toronto, los angeles and new york.

starting with boston the films follow cons skate ambassadors while they visit some of the cities' best skate spots, shops, hangouts, and the community surrounding them.

cons rider kevin rodrigues collaborated with ben chadourne and jean-louis huhta to bring you an audio visual representation of his skateboarding in paris, france.

kevin sourced a range of his own musical influences and worked closely with jean-louis to create the bespoke composition tailored to suit this film. it was filmed and directed by ben in the recent parisian winter months providing a cold, dark cityscape where everyone involved found a creative influence.

kevin grew up skateboarding in paris, which has shaped his creatively rich diverse output. looking at skateboarding, spots and style with a unique vision that is both refreshingly natural and inspiring. his path is constantly heading in his own direction which will be further evident in his upcoming part in the new polar skate co. video.

converse cons | polar skate co. amsterdam launch!

for the launch of the converse cons x polar skate co. capsule collection at ben-g skateshop in amsterdam, we teamed up to do a very special #byobss on the sunday inspired by "polar's manhattan days" video.

we started out with a tight crew at ben-g for a proper brunch, skated the alleyway and then went on to charge through the city with a few makeshift obstacles donated by converse cons to make spots more skate able.

eventually we ended up at the #byobss hq olympiaplein to have a final sesh with the new obstacles, mucho beers and a proper bbq.

many thanks to all those who came out and converse cons for supporting this event.

manhattan days is a film composed by pontus alv celebrating the converse cons polar skate co. ctas pro and featuring cons and polar riders aaron herrington, kevin rodrigues, david stenström, jerome campbell, dane brady and pontus himself.

taking inspiration from back in the day when you skated all over the city we carted around some east coast style plates and a pole jam in a skateable shopping cart and just let the skating happen!

wall rides are fun! but this is insane!!!

empire games "wallrideorama", presented by converse cons, sponsored by volcom and organika. at the second stop of this years empire games the concept was simple, whoever could hold on and do the longest wall ride wins!

congratulations to jesse ramirez for taking home the win with a mind blowing 16ft wall ride, vince baldo coming in 2nd at 15.5 ft and charles deschamps 3rd at 15ft.

we recently bungled the scouse house massive into a convoy of motor vehicles and made the trip down to the cons project london. there was a full crew in attendance namely dave mackey, evz, geff, rauiri jones, will kynaston, joe mccombe, luke fletcher, russ weasle and charlie birch even now london local boys tom tanner, guy jones, tom harrison and our men on the inside ben raemers and jerome campbell were along for the ride. plenty of laughs and some outright bangin’ manouveres went down so stop typing youporn in the search bar, get your hand of your dick and get watching!!! shout out to jerome for hooking us the fuck up and kev parrott for helping with the filming, scouse.

stumbled upon these vulcanised converse skateboarding shoes at a local mall (i won't tell you where it is, 'cause it's at a secret location), stashed at a corner. i don't know what models they are but they are definitely value for money and these are definitely authentic! just check out the inner tongue, it has the lobster patch sewn on it.

the mid tops were going for only 69sgd and the other two for 65sgd each. i remembered these going for more than a hundred a pair but apparently they don't come with their shoe boxes tho', 'cause all of them were stacked up in a pile.

they were also a bunch of cons cts in a variety of different colour ways and many more models, price ranging from 40sgd to 70sgd each but i was in a hurry to take pictures of 'em. oh well... maybe next time, if they are still in stock.

i personally wanted to snap a pair of those mid tops, just for recreational use but the largest size is us10 and i wear us11 / 12 shoes (depends on the cutting). well, that's just too bad for me, i guess...? =|

'far east, up north'.

the converse china team once again embarked on a journey, this time to the northern neighboring country of russia. while skateboarding is booming within china, the team was looking for something more obscure to skateboard and the far east sounded like perfect option. the only problem was that no one expected it to be freezing in april. besides dealing with the language barrier, skateboarding on rough terrain, the gang had to get accustomed to traditional soviet style ice swimming and much more.

featuring the converse china team, xiao xing, xu ying, blackie, keng qu and alexander hwang.
